Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 large onions , diced
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons Kosher salt
  • 4 pounds beef brisket , trimmed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Combine water, ketchup, vinegar, onions, garlic, brown sugar and Kosher salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Place the brisket in a large baking dish, then pour the ketchup mixture over the brisket.
  4. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and cook in the oven for 4 hours.

  5. Remove brisket from oven, remove foil carefully to release steam, then let sit 10 minutes before slicing.
